We design, make and hand-finish all our metal artworks from solid steel– not thin sheet metal or tin– to look beautiful and endure a lifetime! Why do we use 1/8″ thick steel for our art? We use 1/8″ because it makes a strong beautiful piece of metal art that will stand up to pretty much anything without bending and the thickness makes it look and feel substantial due to its depth. It’s the standard we use on our signs and is a lot more than those we see out there. To put it in terms of U.S. coins: 1/8″ = .125″ = 11 Gauge = Thicker than a Quarter and a Dime Stacked on Top of Each Other (2.4% Thicker). It is 250% thicker than 18 Gauge and 60% thicker than 14 Gauge.HARDWARE NOT INCLUDED: Hanging/mounting hardware is not included with this item. A couple of discreet nails may be used inside the letter holes to mount to your wall or door.
