What are they made out of? Extruded polystyrene, a very light material that makes it easy to work with and maintain. One unpainted tile weights just 1 oz! How big are they? Roughly 19.5 in x 19.5 in x 0.21 in (1 tile covers 2.64 sq. ft) How many 20×20 tiles would you need? Measure your area in square feet and divide the number by 2.64 This is exactly how many tiles you need. We always recommend to add 10% for waste to that number. As example. You have 200 sq ft area. 200 / 2.64 = 76. You need 76 tiles. Add 10% for waste and the final number is 84 tiles. Based on in-house experimentation and user feedback, we only recommend water-based paint for these tiles as any other is likely to damage the tiles. If you have any questions, please let us know All styrofoam tiles originally come in plain white color from the factory (some models also come in black). If you purchase any other color, the tiles will be hand-painted by our painters. So we consider this type of job as a custom job. Pictures of hand-painted tiles and real tiles in your hands may look a little different due to limitations of the camera. Also different monitors show same colors different ways. We strongly recommend you to purchase samples before you place full order! We will not accept returns for hand-painted items. We have to pay the painters to do the job and it’s very hard to resell the painted tiles again, because there are hundreds or thousands of different variations of patterns/colors.
