This stunning warp print silk from Lee Jofa is discontinued. Here you find what is probably the last bolt of this left. 46 yards of utter beauty! The warp due process is involved and painstaking. First, the warp yarns are dyed with the pattern and then the are strung to the loom. Then the weaving begins with plain silk yarns. This method produces a very desired effect of blurring the edges of the printed design, giving it a softness not found in other traditional printing methods. Woven on looms in Lyon, France long recognized as the center of fine silk weaving in Europe. It was in Lyon weaving mills that the silks that decorated the Court of Versailles in the reign of the Louis and Marie Antionette were produced. Of exceptional beauty and quality, this silk has a scrumptious weight to it and an amazing “scoop” which is the sound made when gathering and handling the fabric. These goods would make memorably beautiful window treatments or could be backed for use as upholstery. Or, make the most fabulous pillows and bedding. Anywhere you would want a bit of luxurious beauty in your home, this fabric will be perfect. These are first run quality goods never used and stored on a bolt in the original Lee Jofa wrapper.
