7½" top diameter x 7½" tall vintage, handmade container. I have seen this type of item listed as 2 uses. I have seen it listed as a grain measuring container, and I have seen it listed as a temple basket. Maybe it is both? I don't want to misrepresent this item, but it does seem useful. I think most likely it was originally used to measure rice in a market setting. The bottom is not completely flat, but it sits straight. From South India. Condition is very good. Some chipped paint.
